Czech Industrial Output Rises 1.5% in April

Industrial production in the Czech Republic rose by 1.5% year-on-year in April 2026, the strongest increase in three months, after a 0.9% gain in March. Manufacturing output accelerated (1.8% vs 1.6% in March), led by a sharp expansion in the production of computer, electronic and optical products (11.0% vs 5.2%). Significant contributions also came from the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (7.6% vs 6.8%), as well as other non-metallic mineral products (4.0% vs 1.3%), particularly those used in construction.

In addition, output in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply increased by 0.9%, rebounding from a 4.9% decline in March. By contrast, mining and quarrying contracted more sharply, with output down 12.9% compared with a 2.0% decrease in the previous month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, overall industrial production grew by 1.4%.
