Austria Industrial Output Growth Eases in April

Austria’s industrial production grew 0.6% year-on-year in April 2026, easing from a 1.7% increase in March. Within the main industrial groupings, capital goods posted the strongest gain, with output up 4.0% compared with 2.5% in March. Growth moderated for intermediate goods (1.9% vs 2.0%) and for consumer durables (4.0% vs 9.2%). At the same time, the contraction in energy output became less severe (-5.2% vs -11.3%), whereas production of consumer non-durables declined more sharply (-5.8% vs -3.0%).

On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, overall industrial output slipped 0.1% in April.
