Producer prices in Malta rose by 1.4% year-on-year in May 2026, the fastest increase since October 2023 and up from a 0.9% gain in April. Inflation strengthened notably in capital goods (5.1% vs. 3.2% in April) and intermediate goods (2.9% vs. 2.0%). In contrast, prices for consumer goods fell by 0.6%, while prices in the energy sector remained unchanged. Non-domestic producer prices increased by 1.9%. Within this segment, prices of goods destined for the euro area advanced by 3.5%, and those for non-euro area markets rose by 0.6%. On a monthly basis, overall producer prices edged up by 0.2%.
