Spain’s core Consumer Price Index (CPI) edged down to 2.9% year-over-year in June, from 3.0% previously, signaling a modest easing in underlying inflationary pressures. The latest core CPI reading, updated on 15 July 2026, compares the change in prices this June with the same month a year earlier.
The previous figure, also measured on a year-over-year basis, showed a 3.0% increase, reflecting the change in prices for the prior month versus its corresponding month a year earlier. The slight decline to 2.9% suggests that while underlying price growth remains elevated, it is gradually cooling, which could factor into expectations for monetary and fiscal policy discussions in Spain.
