FX.co ★ Hungary Jobless Rate Unchanged at 4.5% in April–June

Hungary’s unemployment rate was 4.5% in the April–June 2026 period, unchanged from the same three-month period a year earlier. The number of unemployed fell by 0.4 thousand year-on-year, to 218 thousand.

Of the unemployed, 106 thousand were men, corresponding to an unemployment rate of 4.1%, while 112 thousand were women, with an unemployment rate of 4.9%. On average, jobseekers spent 12.5 months looking for work.

Among the unemployed, 36.7% had been searching for a job for less than three months, and 28.0% had been looking for 4–11 months. The share of those unemployed for more than a year rose by 3.6 percentage points, reaching 35.3%.

Over the same period, the number of employed persons declined by 28 thousand year-on-year, to 4.633 million. Employment among men edged up by 1 thousand, to 2.473 million, while employment among women fell by 29 thousand, to 2.160 million.
