Slovakia Business Morale Recovers in July

In July 2026, Slovakia’s industrial confidence indicator rose by 8.7 points to 2.0, rebounding from a seven-month low of -6.7 in June. This improvement was driven primarily by stronger expectations for future production (32 vs 17 in June), especially in the manufacture of wood and paper products, electrical equipment, motor vehicles, trailers, semi-trailers, and other transport equipment. The increase in confidence was further supported by a reduction in finished goods inventories (12 vs 25), most notably in the manufacture of computer, electronic, and optical products. The employment outlook also continued to improve (7 vs 2).

At the same time, however, the current level of total orders deteriorated further (-14 vs -12), as did export order levels (-16 vs -15), and assessments of current industrial production weakened (16 vs 28). Selling price expectations eased slightly (10 vs 13).
