Wall Street Rises on Easing Middle East Tensions

US stock indices ended higher on Monday, supported by a rebound in Treasury prices. The S&P 500 climbed 1.5%, moving close to its record high, while the Dow gained 693 points to finish at a record 53,178, and the Nasdaq 100 advanced 1.8%. The US refrained from launching strikes on Iran over the weekend, and fuel prices retreated, pushing yields lower across the curve as markets reassessed the scale of inflation risks. Tehran signaled progress in talks aimed at restoring shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

AI-related and megacap technology stocks strengthened alongside renewed risk appetite. Amazon (+4.6%) surpassed a $3 trillion market capitalization, with notable gains also seen in Alphabet (+4.9%), Microsoft (+4.9%), and Meta (+6%). Semiconductor stocks rallied as well, with Nvidia (+2.9%), AMD (+1.8%), and SanDisk (+6%) all posting solid advances. Investors now look ahead to upcoming earnings from SpaceX (+5.7%) and AMD on Tuesday.
