Ibovespa Edges Lower on Corporate Results

The Ibovespa inched lower on Friday, hovering near 175,000 points amid another round of 2Q26 earnings releases. Localiza eased despite posting a net profit of R$1 billion, an increase of 30.6% year-on-year. Renner plunged 10% after cutting its net revenue guidance for 2026, citing a sharp slowdown in sales during the World Cup period. Magazine Luiza also retreated nearly 5% after reporting a 2Q26 net loss almost three times larger than in 2Q25. BB Seguridade fell 6% after its dividend cutoff date on Thursday, with shares now trading ex-dividend. According to Bradesco BBI, the company is likely to remain in a challenging environment after its pension segment underperformed, reflecting weaker financial results. In contrast, Petrobras gained more than 0.5% after beating expectations, as supply disruptions linked to the US-Iran conflict pushed up second-quarter prices for crude oil, gasoline, and diesel. The company’s EBITDA surged 80% year-on-year.
