PBoC Skips Seven-Day Reverse Repos for First Time Since June

The People’s Bank of China (PBoC) conducted no seven-day reverse repos in its open market operations on Tuesday, according to an online statement—its first day without such injections since June. The decision, made in response to demand conditions among primary dealers, comes as the central bank continues to deploy reverse repos flexibly to fine-tune banking system liquidity. The absence of new injections indicates the PBoC saw little need for additional short-term funding, opting instead to let existing liquidity conditions steer its operations.
