The DAX 40 inched up to around 16,420 on Wednesday, setting a new record high and extending its winning streak to a fifth consecutive session. Investors continued to digest corporate earnings and track geopolitical developments ahead of a key US inflation release. The advance was led primarily by technology and industrial shares, which more than offset declines in consumer cyclical, telecommunications, and automotive stocks. Siemens Energy and Rheinmetall were among the top performers, gaining 3.9% and 2.4%, respectively. Chipmaker Infineon Technologies and AI-exposed construction group Hochtief also contributed to the upside, each adding roughly 1.6%.
