Italy Industrial Sales Decline in June

Italy’s industrial turnover fell by 1.0% month-on-month in June 2026, reversing a downwardly revised 0.5% increase in May. Sales declined in both domestic (-1.0% vs +0.1% in May) and foreign (-1.0% vs +1.3%) markets.

On an annual basis, calendar-adjusted industrial turnover rose by 3.1%, easing from a downwardly revised 5.2% increase in May, as growth weakened in both domestic (2.3% vs 4.7%) and foreign (4.6% vs 6.2%) sales.

By industrial grouping, turnover decreased only for consumer goods (-1.2%), while energy (+22.2%), intermediate goods (+5.4%) and capital goods (+0.8%) all recorded gains.

Meanwhile, turnover in the services sector was flat compared with the previous month, after a 0.2% increase in May. Over the second quarter as a whole, seasonally adjusted industrial turnover rose by 1.2%.
