While July’s indicator reflected a robust 8.30% year-over-year increase in motorbike sales, August’s 3.18% rise points to more subdued demand or a higher comparison base from August of the previous year.

The data suggest that, although the sector is still expanding in annual terms, the tailwind that supported stronger growth in mid-2026 may be fading, potentially signaling a period of more moderate sales performance ahead for Indonesia’s motorbike industry.
