Belarus Industrial Growth Edges Higher

Belarus’ industrial output grew by 0.2% year-on-year in the first eight months of 2026, marginally above the 0.1% increase recorded over the first seven months. The expansion was driven primarily by a 7.5% rise in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air-conditioning. Mining and quarrying production also advanced, increasing by 2.7%, while water supply, waste management, and remediation services grew by 1.6%. These gains were partly offset by a 1% contraction in manufacturing, which has remained in negative territory for more than a year, restraining overall industrial growth.
