DAX Starts the Week on Cautious Note

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 hovered just above the flatline around 25,430 on Monday, as investors remained cautious amid the ongoing US–Iran standoff, sharply rising crude oil prices, and elevated government bond yields. Geopolitical tensions stayed high after US President Trump rejected Iran’s proposed ceasefire, while Tehran reiterated it would not soften its conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Even so, another round of indirect negotiations between Washington and Tehran is scheduled to resume this week. Sector-wise, gains in pharmaceuticals & healthcare, utilities, and autos helped offset weakness in technology, industrials, and banking stocks.
