Euro Zone Core CPI Holds Steady at 0.2% in September, Signaling Stable Underlying Inflation

The Euro Zone’s core Consumer Price Index (CPI) remained unchanged in September 2026, posting a month-over-month increase of 0.2%, identical to the previous reading. According to data updated on 16 October 2026, the core inflation measure—which excludes volatile items such as food and energy—showed no acceleration or deceleration compared with the prior month.

On a month-over-month basis, the “actual” figure for September 2026 reflects the change relative to August 2026, while the “previous” figure captured the change in August compared with July. In both cases, the indicator stood at 0.2%, underlining a period of stable underlying price pressures across the currency bloc. This steady core CPI reading suggests that, at least for now, the Euro Zone is not experiencing a renewed surge in underlying inflation on a monthly basis.
