Slovakia’s industrial confidence indicator rose by 7.7 points to -4.0 in October 2026, up from -11.7 in September. This improvement was mainly driven by more optimistic expectations for industrial production growth (9 versus 4 in September), especially in the manufacture of wood and paper products (14 versus 4) and in other manufacturing activities, including the repair and installation of machinery and equipment (25 versus 22). Confidence in the computer, electronic, and optical products segment also turned positive (4 versus -54). Expectations for the future trend in industrial production strengthened further (9 versus 4), while sentiment regarding current production moved into positive territory (11 versus -8). Employment expectations improved as well, shifting to a favorable outlook (6 versus -5). However, assessments of stocks of finished goods worsened (4 versus 24), and views on current order levels became slightly more negative (-17 versus -15). Evaluations of export orders also deteriorated further (-20 versus -18).
