According to preliminary estimates, Lithuania’s economy contracted by 1.0% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter of 2026, following a downwardly revised 1.4% expansion in the previous three-month period. This was the first quarterly decline since the fourth quarter of 2022, largely reflecting weaker activity in construction, information and communication, and transportation and storage services. On a year-on-year basis, GDP grew by 1.8% in Q3 2026, down from 4.1% in the preceding quarter and representing the slowest pace of expansion since the contraction recorded in Q1 2023.
