Thailand’s S&P Global Manufacturing PMI climbed to 54.8 in October 2026 from 54.3 in September, reaching its highest level since December 2025 amid continued improvement in demand conditions. New orders expanded at one of the fastest rates on record, underpinned by a growing customer base and effective promotional campaigns.
To meet stronger production needs and rebuild inventories, manufacturers accelerated purchasing activity at the quickest pace since August 2024. However, backlogs of work accumulated at the fastest rate in nearly a year, as rising workloads coincided with reduced workforce capacity following staff resignations.
On the cost side, input prices edged higher, driven by increased raw material costs. Nonetheless, manufacturers largely left selling prices unchanged in an effort to support sales. Business sentiment remained positive in October, with firms retaining robust expectations for output growth over the coming 12 months.
