European Stocks Head for Higher Open

European equity markets were set to open higher on Monday as the recent global stock selloff—driven by concerns over the artificial intelligence sector—appeared to be losing momentum. Sentiment was further supported by a pullback in oil prices, amid reports that President Donald Trump plans to allow more time for diplomatic efforts before deciding whether to resume military strikes against Iran following Tuesday’s midterm elections.

On the economic calendar, investors will be watching German retail sales and the final Manufacturing PMI data for the Eurozone, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. No major European corporate earnings are due on Monday, but attention is increasingly shifting to upcoming results from leading US technology companies, including Apple and Palantir. In premarket trading, Euro Stoxx 50 futures rose 0.2%, while Stoxx 600 futures added 0.1%.
