Hungary Industrial Output Growth Eases in September

Industrial production in Hungary increased by 8.2% year-on-year in September 2026, slowing slightly from the 8.7% rise recorded in August, according to preliminary estimates. The expansion was driven by higher output in most manufacturing branches, with particularly strong growth in vehicle manufacturing, computer, electronic and optical equipment production, and electrical equipment manufacturing. In contrast, output fell in the food, beverage and tobacco industries. On a seasonally and working-day adjusted basis, industrial production rose by 0.9% month-on-month in September, after a 1.1% increase in August. Over the period from January to September, industrial output was 4.0% higher than in the same period a year earlier.
