Latvia Industrial Output Picks Up in September

Latvia's industrial production increased by 2.6% year-on-year in September 2026, accelerating from a 0.6% rise in August. By contrast, production strengthened in chemicals and chemical products (27.9% vs 11.7%) and in machinery and equipment (22.2% vs 16.9%).

The contraction in electricity and gas supply also eased markedly, with output down 18.9% compared with a 43.6% drop in the previous month. On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 0.6% in September, after a 0.4% increase in August. For the third quarter as a whole, industrial output was up 1.0% year-on-year.
