Thailand’s Inflation Reignites as October CPI Jumps to 3.9% YoY

Thailand’s consumer price inflation accelerated sharply in October 2026, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising 3.90% year-over-year, up from 2.82% in September 2026. The latest data, updated on 6 November 2026, point to mounting price pressures in the Thai economy after a more moderate pace of inflation in the previous month.

Measured on a year-over-year basis, the October reading indicates that prices in Thailand grew at a significantly faster rate compared with the same month a year earlier, and that this pace has clearly picked up from September’s annual comparison. The previous figure reflected inflation in September relative to September of the prior year, while the current reading compares October prices to those of October a year ago.

The nearly one percentage point jump between September and October suggests that inflationary momentum is building, a development that could draw increased attention from policymakers, businesses, and consumers as they assess the implications for purchasing power, wage demands, and potential policy responses in the months ahead.
